Clinical Supervision
Being a therapist is the coolest job & the highest honor. Truly. I cannot wait to hear from you and support you with this journey. As a therapist with over 7 years of counseling experience, I am thrilled to be providing supervision to provisionally licensed therapists to fulfill Texas State Board requirements for full LPC licensure. My approach to supervision entails education, guidance, support, and encouragement while you embark the journey of 3000 counseling hours.
Professionally, I have experience in private practice; prior to opening Violet Crown Therapy I worked at a group counseling office. Having said that, the majority of my therapeutic experiences are within a private practice setting, so my ideal LPC-Associate is someone who is interested in accruing their hours at a group and/or private practice. At this time, it is not my intention to have supervisees be associates of Violet Crown Therapy, however, I can provide names of clinicians I know & trust to inquire about potentially working at their practice while in supervision with me.
As you know, 3000 hours is a LOT. It will take a minimum of 18 months (although typically it is about 2+ ish years) to fulfill this requirement. Having said that, the supervisor/supervisee relationship is invaluable; it is important to make sure you feel safe and supported throughout the supervision process, so finding the right supervisor to work with is essential. Please reach out with any & all curiosities/inquiries about working together so we can both be sure we are a good fit.

While there is no single or agreed definition of supervision, at its core, supervision is a process of professional learning and development that enables individuals to reflect on and develop their knowledge, skills, and competence, through agreed and regular support with another professional. It will also cover the nuts and bolts of maintaining your license with the board and understanding the board rules.
